Give Back with CFP Board's Financial Planning Days
Share this
Looking for a way to give back to your community? You'll have a great chance to do some good for people in need of financial advice this October and November in your city.
CFP Board is currently inviting CFP® professionals from around the country to participate in and volunteer for their 5th annual Financial Planning Days events. These events provide a free way for the public to get started with financial planning. Attendees can sit down with advisors for 15-minute sessions and attend educational, classroom-style presentations to continue learning valuable information about achieving success with their personal finances.
Why volunteer? From the official website:
The concept is simple – local CFP® professionals will volunteer to provide pro bono one-on-one counseling and to present financial planning workshops to area residents. The benefits are plentiful – providing needed financial information to your community and raising awareness of the importance of financial planning.
Not to mention, CFP® professionals who complete the Boot Camp can qualify to receive one Continuing Education (CE) credit from CFP Board at no cost. So there's a professional benefit to you, as well, in case you needed a little extra incentive. (Note that the CE credit is available only if you have not already received CE credit for this course in your current certification cycle.)
If you want to volunteer to help out at a local event, stop by the website and find an event near you.
Specifically, if you're in one of the following cities, the CFP Board is actively seeking volunteers in these areas:
- Baltimore, MD
- Lubbock, TX
- St. Louis, MI
- Chicago, IL
- Milwaukee, WI
- Twin Cities, MN
- Cincinnati, OH
- Virginia Beach, VA
- Indianapolis, IN
- Phoenix, AZ
- Washington, DC
- Los Angeles, CA
- Greater Sacramento, CA
- Orange County, CA
Participating in a Financial Planning Day is a wonderful way to help out those that truly need the right guidance to financial success. Volunteering your time and expertise can make a positive impact in someone's life who is ready to get on the right track, but just needs a little help to get moving in the right direction.
You can provide that, and help us carry out an idea that helps drive XY Planning Network: that good financial advice and education isn't just for those who have already found their success. It's for everyone seeking the tools they need to live their great life.
