I’m Sam Lewis, Founder of SJLF and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™.

I’ve lived in Delaware my entire life but have been fortunate to travel around the world. I joined the military while still in high school and continue serving today, almost 23 years later! I’ve worked as a farmhand, drafter, land surveyor, personal trainer, air cargo craftsman, recruiter and senior enlisted leader.

But my passion is for financial planning.

I wasn’t always smart with money, but when I met the love of my life, I knew I had to do better. The spark was lit when I picked up a copy of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine in an airport gift shop when embarking on a family trip to Disney World in 2013. It was a real wake-up call to admit how much I didn’t know about the financial considerations that would shape our future.

Along my journey, I consumed every bit of knowledge I could get my hands on. In 2018, I earned a full Veteran’s Scholarship to the American College of Financial Services through the Penn Mutual Center for Veterans Affairs. I began the rigorous coursework for the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) curriculum. In 2020, I passed the Securities Industry Essentials and Series 65 exams leading to the ultimate achievement of passing the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Exam and was awarded the CFP® Certification 2022.

My mission now is to serve you, to help you understand your financial situation, set clear goals for your future, and give you a well-marked path to help you get there. Whatever the goal, we can plan for that!
