About Michael Dunlop, CFP®
I retired from the Air Force in 2014 and went back to school as a non-traditional student at the University of Northern Iowa. There, I obtained a bachelor’s degree in accounting and started working in the field immediately. A few years later I developed a strong interest in investing and personal finance, which became the foundation for what was to come next.
As time continued, I realized I was not only interested in personal finance and the markets, but that I was passionate about helping others achieve their financial goals. This realization catapulted me toward obtaining my CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ license and starting my own financial advising firm, Ignite Financial.
Although my firm is based in Cedar Falls, IA, I help individuals, families, and business owners across the country. I enjoy guiding my clients through the financial planning process as we identify their goals and create a plan to achieve them.
