About Matthew Ramos, CFP®
MAR Financial Planning, LLC is led by Matthew A. Ramos, CFP®. I founded MAR FP with the mission to provide affordable and straightforward financial planning and investment management for everyone. I have been in the financial advisory industry since 2001 and became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional in 2010. Over the course of my career I have developed a variety of skills as an advisor, analyst, portfolio manager, trader, and chief operating officer. I have worked with a wide range of clients and previously specialized in advising professional athletes.
I am compassionate, empathetic, and patient because I’ve struggled with many financial issues too. When I was in my early 20s I had credit cards cancelled because I could not even make the minimum payments and lived paycheck to paycheck. I let cash burn a hole in my pocket rather than save it, let alone invest it. But those bad decisions taught me great lessons about discipline, making smarter decisions, delaying gratification, saving money, planning, and investing for the future. I am confident you can benefit from the professional expertise and life experiences I have to offer.
