About Laura M. Morganelli, CFP®

I want to bring a sense of peace in people’s financial lives. I use short and long term goals to create unique plans that take action, all while ensuring future goals are met. These goals include budgeting, creating savings structures to build wealth, making sure there’s proper insurance coverage, and setting retirement goals. I love helping clients with all aspects of financial planning and investment management. These topics can sometimes feel complex and scary, which is where I come in! I’m passionate about providing guidance and education in simple, human, and enjoyable ways.

I grew up in Bethlehem, PA, and loved the area so much that I stuck around for college. I graduated from DeSales University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. After graduation, I joined a financial planning firm in Bethlehem for two years. During that time, I passed the Series 66 (Uniform Combined State Law Examination) and the Series 7 (General Securities Representative Exam), which allowed me to become an Investment Advisor Representative (IAR). When I decided it was time to move on, I looked for a firm that would expose me to first rate advisors with diverse backgrounds, while also supporting my desire to work with people I truly connect with. I found Abacus Wealth Partners in 2015 and knew it was the perfect fit. At Abacus, my clients work one-on-one with me, but we also take a team approach, continually learning from and bouncing ideas off each other. Since joining Abacus, I’ve passed the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) exam, gained a tremendous amount of experience, and have tapped into the wealth of knowledge of my generous colleagues.

On a personal note, I live in Philadelphia, which I adore. Most days after work I can be found at the dog park with my pup Bella (and all her furry friends), or working out at the gym. I’m an avid reader and appreciate a good mystery novel. When I’m not nerding out over Excel spreadsheets or burying my nose in books, I love exploring museums, happy hours with friends, new restaurants, or traveling to new cities. Family is also important to me, considering their influence is a big part of who I am today. When I was little my dad used to say, “If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.” Those words have stuck with me through every choice I’ve made over the years. My eagerness to build knowledge, coupled with my love of meeting new people, has made financial planning the perfect fit.
