About Kevin Shuller, CFP®, CFA

I’m Kevin Shuller, Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Cedar Peak Wealth Advisors (CPWA). CPWA is a boutique investment manager and financial planning firm catering to the needs of families with small children and couples about to start their families.

It’s easy to obsess over everything when you have young kids. You never really know if you are making the right decisions. You don’t even know if you are asking the right questions. How do I save for college? How am I supposed to operate on 4 hours of sleep? How will I ever be able to retire if I spend this much on organic berries? You are so afraid of doing the wrong thing that you end up doing nothing. Navigating your finances can be as easy as working with a financial advisor who understands you.

That’s where CPWA can help. I am based in Denver but work with families all over the country. Many people are surprised by how collaborative good financial planning is. We will work together to figure out what you want your life to look like tomorrow, 10 years from now, and 40 years from now. After we build a comprehensive financial picture, we will make a map to get you to your goals. Your plan is just for you. I’ll be your guide, helping you stay on the path and avoid the quicksand. It’s your journey. I’ll be with you every step of the way.

Other than a brief period in my teens where I thought I would be a professional golfer, investing is all I’ve wanted to do with my career. I’ve picked stocks at massive mutual fund complexes and small hedge funds. I’ve done portfolio construction and investment research at a $750m independent advisor. I’ve seen all angles of the financial system. I want to use that knowledge and understanding to guide you to your goals. I started by investing my Bar Mitzvah money. That’s how I’ve accumulated 25+ years of investing experience while still being young enough to guide you through the financial jungle for decades to come. I’ve been through many bull and bear markets. I will help you focus on the long-term no matter what the headlines say.

I have a BS with University Honors in Finance and Accountancy from Miami University. I have an MBA from the Johnson School at Cornell University with a focus on Capital Markets and Asset Management. I am a CFA charterholder and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. My wife and I live in Denver with our two young kids and a dog. When I’m not investing or thinking about investing, you will find me burying my nose in a book, swinging kettlebells, or fondly remembering all of the hobbies I had before kids.
