About Donovan Brooks, CFP®, CKA®

Hi I’m Donovan! I’ve worked in the financial services industry for about a decade with half of those years at a broker dealer where the firm and client interests were constantly at odds. I wanted to change that by serving clients differently.

In 2015, I launched Storyline Financial Planning as a way of doing that. Along the way I realized that there weren’t many options for Christians to get personalized financial advice that aligned with their beliefs, so I leaned into that.

Today, I have the privilege of guiding Christians in aligning their personal finances with their faith, planning for the meaningful things in life, and achieving true financial freedom.

Do you:

-Suspect that you can be managing your resources better?

-Lack clear direction or vision?

-Have little progress to show?

These are some questions that I help address with clients. Consequently, we’re able to create a personalized plan that that empowers you in each of these areas.

I love that I get to serve Christians in a way that empowers them towards honorable stewardship. And through this transformative process we get to honor God with how we steward all that He has entrusted to us.

Since launching Storyline Financial Planning, I’ve been quoted in numerous publications and have been recognized as an Investopedia Top 100 Advisor.

I’m a proud graduate of the Booth School of Business at Northwest Missouri State University and the executive certificate program at the University of Georgia for financial planning.

In addition, I hold the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and Certified Kingdom Advisor® designations — exemplifying my commitment to the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in the industry all while incorporating biblical wisdom.

When I’m not creating financial plans you can typically find me with my family dancing, being goofy, or adventuring.

December 28, 2020

The moment many of us have been waiting for: will there be another round of stimulus checks? The short answer is that it looks very promising.
