About Denise Downey, CFP®, MBA
Hi, I’m Denise. I have spent my entire 19-year career inside the financial services industry. I’ve worked on the trading floor of the Chicago Stock Exchange, managed back-office support teams, and served as a financial planner for high-net-worth individuals.
In 2015, I decided to leave my full-time job as a high-net-worth financial planner. I loved my career, but I wasn’t comfortable letting my high-pressure work environment pull me away from my family.
I decided to take time off to spend more time with my children and work on my MBA. During this time, our family moved to Spokane, Washington. I fell in love with the great outdoors and became an avid hiker.
I reflected on a different side of the finance world during this time. I realized that many people are completely shut out of the infrastructure that could completely reshape their financial journeys.
In 2016, I returned to financial services to start Financial Trex. My goal is to provide everyday people the top-level advice that is usually reserved for multimillionaires. As a Certified Financial Planner™, I love helping people figure out how to achieve their financial goals.
These days, when I’m not hiking with my kids, I am helping people learn they can achieve financial success on their own terms.
