About David Stone, CFP®

I was first introduced to the concept of financial planning back in 1982 when I saw the movie Night Shift starring Henry Winkler and Michael Keaton. Henry Winkler’s character was a former stockbroker who showed Michael Keaton how money could be used to make more money. This was very intriguing to me as all I ever knew about making money was good old-fashioned hard work. In 1992 I joined the Equitable to satisfy my desire to learn financial planning. Two years later I decided to leave the Equitable since they wanted me to sell life insurance and annuities as opposed to doing financial planning. Thus, I joined Comprehensive Planning Consultants as a Para planner, and in 1997 the owner of Comprehensive Planning Consultants passed away unexpectedly. I made good on my promise to the owner to purchase the business from his widow if something should ever happen to him. I re-opened the business as Personal Financial Advisors, Inc in 1998. The next year I was introduced to the concept of “Values Based Financial Planning”. This was a turning point in my career, as I embraced the concept of creating financial plans based on peoples’ values so every client would have a financial plan based on their Financial Roadmap®. I believe my experience through the years enables me to help people navigate the financial challenges life presents itself as well as keep our clients on track to reach their goals so they can have the life they want to live.
