Kevin Force, CFP®, AIF®

About Kevin Force, CFP®, AIF®

I have a passion and talent for translating concepts of personal finance and investing into everyday common English that even my children understand. I have been fortunate to live out that passion for the last 12 years, but now I’m looking to combine it with a personal, concierge level of service. I just began my my own practice at the beginning of 2020, By limiting the number of clients I serve, I can deliver world-class financial advice and still have time remaining to spend with my wife, three children, mother, and three pets. I hold both the CFP® and AIF® designations along with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.

About Betsy Ratashak-Vogel, CFP®

RVPF exists to support professional women in medicine and their families ease the burden of financial decision making, planning, and management. The task of maintaining balance between the roles of professional, spouse, mother, sister, daughter, and friend can be overwhelming. RVPF is here to help.

Betsy’s story begins in Iowa on a pretty typical small family farm. Her youth was spent playing sports, preparing projects for the county fair, a first job bagging groceries, and roaming about in a way that is atypical now. High school graduation sent her off toward a bachelor’s degree in Food Science. A couple collegiate job experiences included a test kitchen analyst for a large regional grocery store chain and quality control engineering position for the company that makes SPAM. Betsy then completed a master’s degree in family and consumer sciences, an area of study which gave rise to many of today’s collegiate financial planning programs.

Four years of teaching personal finance to high school students while her new spouse completed medical school steered her toward a position as a personal financial counselor at Travis AFB in Fairfield, CA, where her spouse completed residency and eventually joined the teaching faculty. It was at the University of California Davis Extension where Betsy completed her CFP® professional certification and knew that she had found her calling. The birth of a second child coincided with the establishment of RVPF and a move back to Iowa where they have made their home in a little piece of heaven called Decorah.

Deaton Smith, CFP®, ChFC®

About Deaton Smith, CFP®, ChFC®

I’m Deaton Smith and I am the founder of Thayer Financial, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, a West Point graduate and OEF Veteran. I named Thayer Financial after the founding father of West Point because I envision my company as something bigger than me. It embodies the same values and principles of my time at West Point and in the Army: Duty, Honor, Integrity, and Loyalty. These values are at the very core of everything I do and stand for.

The existing business model is drowning in a sea of “trust me” salespeople all riddled with major conflicts of interest and complicated financial products that pay exorbitant commissions. This is why I created my own firm. My values and beliefs did not line up with any of these major firms and I knew that there had to be a better way to serve my clients.

That’s why I launched a fee-only Registered Investment Adviser that is legally obligated to work as a fiduciary 100% of the time. I don’t accept commissions, referral fees, kickbacks, free vacations, or marketing dollars from insurance companies or investment companies. The only way I get paid is directly from my clients for the services that I provide, which allows my clients to weigh the true cost of the advice they are receiving.

About Andrea Clark, CFP®, AFC®

Hi, I’m Andie, and I have a problem – NUMBERS! I love them. I graduated with my engineering degree in 19–, well, a while ago, but entered the workforce at a time when virtual careers and telecommuting were not options. As a vagabond military spouse, I spent years bouncing around the Air Force teaching entry-level math classes at community colleges and finding students paid best attention when you could relate math problems to their real lives – car loans, home buying, the break-even for their catering business, the true cost of student loans – you get the idea.

I established The Table to bring comprehensive financial planning, counseling, and education to the military community. More than two decades as a military spouse and ten years as a DoD military financial counselor make me uniquely qualified to serve my clients who are active duty, guard, and reserve service members, veterans, and surviving spouses from all over the country. My goal is to help you use the discipline you learned and the pays and benefits you earned in your military career to create your best financial future. I focus on maximizing pensions, TSP accounts, VA educational benefits, healthcare coverage, and military tax advantages.

I also offer services for small business owners wanting a low-cost, high-quality employer-sponsored retirement plan. In my years as a military financial counselor, I helped countless service members get started saving for retirement using their unique “401(k)” plan, the Thrift Savings Plan. While I gave briefings too numerous to mention on the benefits of using an employer’s retirement plan, it was the fireside chats with my small business owner dad that called me to action. At the age of 74, the owner of the Anfinson Farm Store established a 401k, and all seven employees made their first contributions. Research shows that an employer-sponsored retirement plan is the number one tool for retirement readiness. After a regular paycheck and a healthcare plan, there is no better way to take care of employees who have become like family. I challenge every employer to make “paying yourself first” a little easier and a lot more understandable for themselves and their employees.

About Gregory Young, CFP®, ChFC®, EA

Ahead Full Wealth was created to provide financial clarity and direction to good people with objectivity and creativity. I am trying to change the mindset around financial advice to hone in on having a plan that evolves and course-corrects with our clients’ ever-changing lives and businesses to create a path to truly fulfilling wealth. The traditional approach to planning “this could go wrong, or you should do this to enhance your future” is followed immediately by “here is a product or service to achieve that end.” There is more to planning than just math and other rules of thumb. At Ahead Full, I want our clients to experience the flow of discovering themselves, dreaming about possibilities, designing, and arriving at new destinations that embody their values and ambitions, personally, professionally, and financially, because no business, no person, no family are the same.

I am passionate about enabling others to live their best lives. I help them in personal and business planning, taxes, investments, and self-realization to give them complete confidence in the financial decisions they make. When we work together, my process empowers my clients to stay full steam ahead towards their personal, professional, and financial ambitions. I have been a leader in the military, in corporations, in the classroom, as a business owner, and as a father and husband… Life pulls us in one hundred different directions, but I can help you stay at the helm.

Mark Humphries, CFP®

About Mark Humphries, CFP®

Mark is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional located in Maryland. Through his personal and professional experiences he has learned how to help government employees and members of the military with their financial planning needs. Mark holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and has worked in the financial industry since 2011. While building a foundation in the industry Mark realized there was more he could do to serve clients. He earned a graduate degree in Personal Financial Planning. The coursework expanded the knowledge he needed to help clients and their families with tax, insurance, retirement, and estate planning and investment management.

Prior to entering the financial industry, Mark worked in the automotive field. It was at this stage in his life that he became interested in financial planning. Upon starting his first full-time job after the military, he was presented with the option to enroll into his employer’s 401(k) plan. Mark turned everywhere for help with understanding what he should do. However, no one was able to guide him. So, he began reading and researching everything he could find related to saving for retirement.

Prior to working in the financial and automotive industries, Mark was enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. During his enlistment, he became familiar with the challenges military service members and their families face. He also became aware of the resources and tools available to them in difficult times. While enlisted Mark was deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom and witnessed firsthand the strains being separated from family can cause.
