About Galen Herbst de Cortina, CFP®

It’s my mission to make sure that all streamers learn how to run their businesses and manage their personal finances. I want to help you transition from an accidental business owner to someone who acts with intention and knowledge. Most of us weren’t taught those skills in school. I see so much potential in all of you and I don’t want something as manageable as taxes get in your way. I couldn’t find any traditional planning firms working with streamers so I went out and started my own.

I have always had an obsession with video games. WoW basically consumed my college life. When I moved halfway across the country for a new job I found my friends in the StarCraft club at work. I watch professional DotA 2 and StarCraft whenever I can. My current addiction is Rimworld.

For the credentials: I’m a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional and have my MBA in personal financial planning. Additionally, I write for StreamerSquare as well as my own blog.

About Shaun Melby, CFP®

My name is Shaun Melby and I am the founder of Melby Wealth Management, LLC. At the time of my certification, I was one of the youngest CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioners in the country.

I have over a decade of experience in the financial industry while working closely with some of the biggest names in music. I believe the financial planning process is the best way to create and maintain wealth, so I formed Melby Wealth Management to help as many people as possible work towards achieving their dreams and obtaining financial peace of mind.

I grew up in Onalaska, Wisconsin and moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 2005 to earn a BBA in Finance as well as Music Business from Belmont University. My wife and I call Nashville, Tennessee home and in 2019 we welcomed our first child into the world.

During my spare time, I enjoy going to Nashville Predators games, cheering on the Green Bay Packers, checking out the local dining scene, traveling, playing with our dogs Hank and Bo, and spending time with family and friends. I also serve as Treasurer for the Crieve Hall Neighborhood Association.

About Patrick Dinan, CFP®, CSRIC®

Hi, I’m Patrick and I’m an advisor serving forward thinking professionals who care about the environment and investing in a better world. I’m passionate about partnering with my clients to take the stress out of financial planning and investment management.

Like most clients I serve, you are probably busy with your career, your family, fitness and other passions. Financial planning may not be at the top of your to-do list.

My goal is to be your accountability partner in developing and executing your personalized vision. We will work together proactively to make sure you are moving forward with your personalized plan. Over the long run, this will save you time, money, and unnecessary stress so you can focus on what’s truly important to you.

When it comes to investing, I don’t believe you need to sacrifice your values to get higher returns. In fact, I believe the exact opposite. Through my research, I have found that in most cases, ethically challenged companies tend to underperform over the long-run. I seek to avoid these businesses so we can invest more of your hard-earned money on purpose-driven enterprises focused on building a better future.

The goal is to empower you while helping your bottom line. I view this as a win-win. As a signatory to the Divest-Invest movement, I avoid investing in any fossil fuel or carbon based companies. I will never use expensive and opaque mutual funds or try to time the market. I have found that successful investment strategies are well-diversified, disciplined and keep costs low.

Originally from Pittsburgh, my wife and I are proud Steelers fans. After spending the past fourteen years in California, we’ve rounded out most of the major cities including San Diego, San Francisco and now reside in Los Angeles.

When I’m not advising clients, you can find me at one of the local parks or beaches with my two young daughters.

I love swimming in the open water and over the years I’ve escaped from Alcatraz, swam under the Golden Gate Bridge and raced from San Diego to Coronado.

I enjoy science fiction and reading about how future trends will impact our economy. To me, there is nothing better than relaxing with friends and family while sharing a great meal and a nice bottle of wine.

About Gabriel Anderson, CFP®, CLU, ChFC

Hey everyone, my name is Gabe and I run a westside Los Angeles based financial planning firm that serves Builders, Creators, and Educators both locally and virtually.

We specialize in and may be a good fit if you are:
A Creator: You work in entertainment in some fashion (writers, editors, musicians, producers, cinematographers, etc) and tend to have “lumpy” income. Advice often surrounds: cash flow/budgeting, incorporating, retirement planning, guild membership, pensions, and planning for future goals.

A Builder: You work in the tech space and/or run your own business. Advice often surrounds: stock compensation (ISOs, RSUs, NQSOs, etc), employee benefits, retirement planning, goal planning, values discussions, and cash flow/budgeting.
An Educator: You have worked or currently work in higher education. Advice often surrounds: pension planning, social security, 403b/457 plans, and unique employee benefits.

Crafted Wealth was founded in Venice, CA in 2015 and we currently work out of a home office on the Westside, 90066. We often meet our clients virtually but are available to meet in person locally at WeWork’s Playa Vista and Santa Monica locations. We’re also huge fans of coffee so we’re never opposed to an initial meetup at a local spot.

If any of the above seems intriguing and you’re ready to get to know each other and see if we’re a good fit, please head to our website to schedule a meeting at www.craftedwealthmanagement.com.

Looking forward to meeting you soon!
