About Ginger Ames, CFP®, Enrolled Agent, CDAA

We all hear whispers within us. They might guide us to a new career, towards a creative peak, or away from something at odds with our values.

What we do with them is the bigger question. Ginger Ames founded Whisper Financial to help fellow creatives listen to their whispers and use the power of financial planning to express their creativity without financial limitations.

Ginger’s professional life has delved into the artistic and business worlds, working as a glassblower and property manager. As she listened to (and ignored) her whispers, she developed a keen understanding of how a financial plan can support and enable one to create more deeply and truly.

Brian Rood, CFP®, CCFC

About Brian Rood, CFP®, CCFC

I am the founder of Artisan Financial Planning and a fee-only financial planner working virtually across the country with professional musicians to achieve their financial goals.

Brian Rood is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and a CCFC practitioner, a member of the XY Planning Network, National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), and the Financial Planning Association.

I hold a Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Michigan and completed the CFP® Certification Professional Education Program from the College for Financial Planning.

My family and I live in Overland Park, KS where I was a member of the Kansas City Symphony for 27 years. Equally at home serving others off-stage, I chaired each Musicians’ negotiation committee from 1997-2020 and also served as the first chair of the KCS 403(b) Retirement Committee. I was a long-time member of the KCS Board of Trustees and Finance Committee as well as co-chair of the 1998 Strategic Plan Task Force, which created collaborative and cooperative governance structures that remain today and are unique within the orchestra industry.

In 2015 I was honored to receive the title of president emeritus from the International Conference of Symphony and Opera Musicians. I spent 17 years on the ICSOM Media Committee, the last three as its chair and 17 years as an AFM Symphony-Opera Orchestra Strike Fund trustee.

I continue to serve as a trustee of the American Federation of Musicians and Employers’ Pension Fund and am presently a co-chair of the Investment Committee.

In my spare time I enjoy sailing and spending time with my family.

Anne Marie Webster, CFP®

About Anne Marie Webster, CFP®

Well, hello there! I became an advisor in March of 2009 when the market was at its lowest in the financial crisis–and about to make a stunning rebound. (The clients I convinced to start investing in 2009 think I’m a genius now.) I graduated from Salem College in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications which was a helpful degree to pursue considering what I do now. (Good job, 22-year-old self!) About ten years into my career as an advisor I earned the CFP® designation- an accomplishment of which I am very proud. I run my life on an excel spreadsheet and love nerding out to numbers, but my passion for this career lies in the relational and very human side of personal finance.

I’ve worked in both privately held and publicly traded financial firms large and small, but nothing compares to the joy of founding my own financial firm working with the clients of my choice. I live in Lewisville with my husband, three kiddos, two dogs, and a recording studio. We play and make a lot of music and are living proof that creatives can be great with money.

About Leighann Miko, CFP®, RLP

I believe financial guidance should be equally accessible to all, but this is rarely the case in the traditional world of financial planning. I’m here to change that. Like my company name suggests, I founded Equalis Financial to serve underserved communities like LGBTQ+ creatives and other thoughtfully ambitious professionals. My “why” is to help others create the financially secure life I never thought I’d have after growing up in a financial volatile environment.

Financial stability isn’t something you hope for; it’s something you plan for. As a creative working in a volatile industry, having the right financial plan is essential. It can act as a strong anchor in financially uncertain times, but only if the plan is uniquely built for you. At Equalis Financial, we’re here to help.

WHAT WE OFFER

-Financial Planning-
To get where you want to go, you’ll need a custom roadmap that’s built strategically around your goals. We take a human-centered approach to financial planning, focusing more on you than your money. In this process, we will help you realign your financial mindsets and habits with your long-term vision, resulting in a more financially secure future.

-Business Management-
If you are looking to outsource the day-to-day operations of your business, we are here to help. These related services—including tax preparation and planning, payroll processing, and monthly bookkeeping—are available exclusively to our financial planning clients.

-Investment Management-
As an investor, you have the ability to effectively “put your money where your mouth is” by investing in social causes you believe in. From environment conservation to improving the gender pay gap to reducing racial inequality, we will customize and manage your portfolio with a carefully planned investment strategy while maintaining the direction and discipline you need to reach your goals.

If any of this resonates with you, let’s chat. The first meeting is on us. There’s no cost and no pressure, just a conversation to see if we’re a good match.

About Lindy Venustus, CFP®

Helping people in all stages of life is our goal to create equity. If you are a great saver, we have a lot of experience, if you are just getting started, we believe you deserve to work with someone – with a lot of experience. I’ve been in the industry since 2002, yet somehow I’ve managed not to become stiff or boring, work from a lighthouse or an Adirondack chair.

Focus: Helping small business owners, gig workers, and artisans stabilize your financial world – so you can focus on your craft – in the US via Zoom.

Create Financial Planning is dedicated to the arts and artisans. We appreciate your process, work, and dedication. We use that same approach in planning.

We act as a behavior coach, mentor, hand holder, oh and Advisor formulating a plan for the future. Our goals are finding a place of comfort with your finances, and to help you use the right tools to get you there.

If you are looking for just a stockbroker, or conversations about investment performance, then Create is not the firm for you. However, if are looking for a partner that appreciates what you do, your goals, and your dreams then let’s start this conversation.

Leslie Ransom, CFP®

About Leslie Ransom, CFP®

You are motivated to create your own path – thinking outside the usual boxes. As you build your life, budgeting, saving, investing and planning are critical to living well and following your dreams. We are a fee-only planning firm with a background in arts and entertainment looking to help you carve out your future.

I am Leslie Ransom, CFP®. With over 20 years in sales and marketing in the independent music industry, I have an awareness of the challenges facing artists, musicians, or anyone looking to build a business or career not tied to a 9-5 job and a regular paycheck. We cater to self-employed entrepreneurs who are looking to plan for a future on their terms.

I founded Indie Financial Planning as an alternative to an industry widely viewed as only serving the very wealthy. There are no investment minimums to work with us. We’re an independent resource ready to partner with you when you’re ready to take control of your financial life.

We know that financial planning involves much more than just investments. We consider the many moving parts that might affect your financial situation – from budgeting to taxes – and work with you to build a plan based on trust and with an understanding that your situation is specific to you. We focus on education and planning to help you achieve your goals.

We treat planning as a partnership. We provide you with the tools and knowledge to take control of your finances and offer advice and expertise to answer your questions and establish your goals. Ongoing planning allows us to create a road map with clients and travel that path alongside them, adjusting for changes along the way.

After graduating from Pomona College with degrees in Economics and French, I moved from California to Boston for a change of scenery. There, I began working in a record store and eventually moved into sales and distribution for a small independent record label (TAANG!). After several years, I moved to Chicago where I continued working in the independent music industry including a 16 year stretch as Head of Sales and Marketing for Touch and Go Records.
After leaving the music industry in 2009, I saw an opportunity to offer budgeting, investment and general planning advice to the many talented and creative types in need of financial planning. I went to Northwestern University and received my Certified Financial Planner™ designation in 2013.
