​He is an alumnus of San Diego State University (’83) and Torrey Pines High School (’78). Mark and his wife have three adult children. When Mark is not in the office, he enjoys spending his time hiking, camping, playing golf, and traveling.

About Josh Wolberg, CFP®, RICP®, MBA

I am the President and Founder of Great River Financial. Prior to becoming an advisor in 2007, I spent 9 years combined in software development and corporate finance. I serve clients as the Lead Financial Planner and Investment Manager for Great River Financial. I also teach as an adjunct instructor at Minnesota State University in Edina, MN where I help other Financial Advisors pursue the CFP® Designation.

I am from Wall, South Dakota. My wife Amy and I moved to the Twin Cities in 1999 and live in Eden Prairie with our three children and rescue dog. I enjoy being active and love traveling, hiking, running, and am a veracious listener of non-fiction audiobooks. I dive deep into multiple complex subjects to seek wisdom about living a meaningful and happy life and share this wisdom with others to help them pursue the same.

Throughout my career, I quickly became the “go-to” resource for colleagues, family, and friends needing financial advice and guidance. Through my desire to educate, bring transparency to financial services, and help others succeed, I founded Objective Wealth. I differentiate by servicing those seeking a fiduciary planner who provides a tax-focused comprehensive approach, objective insight, and level of service that will guide you to identify and help achieve your goals.

I completed my Masters of Business Administrator at Thunderbird School of Global Management and attended Michigan State where I received my bachelor’s degree. Prior to financial planning, I spent many years in the education services business. I was involved with designing learning tools, education technology, and delivering services to classrooms throughout the country. I grew up in a family of educators and providing education is an essential part of my values.

In my free time, you can find me hiking, camping, cooking, and scuba diving. Gina and I enjoy traveling and spending time with our dog, Murphy.

Outside of work, you can find me outside (usually on a bike) or traveling to visit friends in one of the five states I’ve lived in. My wife Erin and I share the same birthday and passion for adventure. We recently spent some time living in Honduras on my family’s mahogany farm. My career began in 1995 on Salomon Brothers’ trading floor. Since then, I have worked in the financial industry in various roles as an options trader, quant, and quantitative consultant to fin-tech startups. In 2019, my firm, Gotham Block, began offering financial planning and investment management services to clients.

I have a Master’s Degree in Scientific Computing from University at Buffalo, a double-major BS in Mathematics and Computer Science from UB, and a certificate in Financial Planning from NYU.

I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, and an Enrolled Agent admitted to represent clients before the IRS.


Candace Scholz, CFP®

Candace Scholz is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and joined Aspen Wealth Management in 2015. Prior to joining the firm, she held various roles within the healthcare industry, from Director of Services to Physician Development. Dedicated and goal orientated, she is driven to evaluate and apply appropriate strategic solutions for our clients and their portfolios.

A graduate of Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring in Management, Candace went on to obtain a Master of Healthcare Administration at Washington University in St. Louis. She then received her Master of Science, Personal Financial Planning, at Texas Tech University.

Candace is actively involved in Outsiders Ministry, Financial Planning Association of Dallas/Fort Worth, National Association of Personal Financial Advisors, and serves on the board of the Glen Rose Chamber of Commerce and Glen Rose Little Dribblers Association. She and her two children reside in the DFW area and, when not at work, can be found cheering her children.

Joseph Alfonso, CFP®, ChFC®, EA, RICP® founded Aegis Financial Advisory and is the principal financial planner for the firm. He received his B.A. in Philosophy from Cornell University.

Joe works with pre-retiree couples to help them successfully transition to a life in retirement secure in the knowledge that they will always be able to afford their chosen lifestyle. He achieves this goal by leveraging his expertise in Social Security and retirement income planning. He is also a certified tax professional and performs “tax-aware” planning to save you money at every opportunity. Mike specializes in working with pre-retiree’s (typically 10 years or less away from retirement), who have been diligent savers throughout their working years, are looking for a trusted advisor, and who understand the value of having expert financial guidance when developing their income plan in retirement.

Mike obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Shippensburg University. Since joining the financial services industry in 2010, Mike has earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®) designations. Mike was named a “Rising Star” by the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) in 2017, and received a similar “Rising Star” honor again in 2018 by the Greater Reading Young Professionals (GRYP). Mike is a class of 2020 graduate of the Leadership Berks program.

Mike and his wife, Alicia, reside in Sinking Spring. They are recent first-time parents to a baby girl, Makenzie, and have two pets, Tunie and Lilly.
