About Kerry O’Brien, CFP®

Kerry O’Brien is a CFP® and Founder of BeingFIT Financial (BFF). Her mission is to help people gain and maintain optimal financial fitness — and to support living with overall wellness and intention. Her firm offers programs for all stages of wealth, and allows clients to choose the program that best matches their personality and competencies. Financial Planning is the core service, along with Investment Management and Tax Preparation. BFF also hosts Wealth and Wellness Events.

Prior to creating BeingFIT Financial, Kerry spent over 15 years working for large financial firms, during which time she specialized in insurance, retirement products, investments, and financial planning. Kerry’s most valuable experience came from her work as a Financial Planning Consultant to financial advisors across the country, serving a variety of markets and planning needs.

While she gained valuable professional experience and perspective – personally Kerry grew very overwhelmed and stressed trying to balance all the elements of day-to-day existence. She discovered how HARD it is to work full-time, advance a career, AND be a good mom.

What unfortunately happened is that all the healthy habits (and social life) that she cherished from her 20’s, living beach-side in Southern California — like hitting the gym, good nutrition, yoga, practicing mindfulness — all went out the window.

Now, she is dedicated again to nurturing her whole self, and has created BeingFIT Financial with the intention to help other like-minded and ambitious people on their path to optimal wellness.

BFF’s Financial Planning Philosophies are:
1. Your Why and Values before your Numbers.
2. Guidance on ALL aspects of your Financial Life.
3. Freedom to use (or don’t) our Investment Management options.
4. Compassionate and Judgement Free Zone.

Financial Planning Fitness programs are available as short-term engagements and designed for entry-level planning needs. BeingFIT Personal Advisory Services are for busy professionals, who desire a long-term Financial “Co-Pilot”, and include financial planning, investment management, and tax preparation for a monthly (or quarterly) flat-fee. Additionally, Game-Plans are an option for special financial goals, or occasional professional assessments for DIY individuals.

Plus, through events and communication, BFF supports financial wellness as well as additional dimensions – by showcasing experts and tips in areas such as physical, emotional, social, intellectual, spiritual, occupational, and environmental wellness.

When she is not working, Kerry is spending time with her 9 year old daughter, at the hockey rink, lifting weights or practicing yoga.

Meghan Lape-Lefevre, CFP®, EA

About Meghan Lape-Lefevre, CFP®, EA

My journey in finance started just after my transition becoming a military spouse. Having to move every three years, it was difficult to reinvent yourself and find new employment each and every time you were assigned somewhere new. Over the years I have done everything from teaching high school mathematics to preparing taxes and financial counseling, the latter of which I was happy to make my career.

After an excruciating divorce, I was forced to reevaluate all aspects of myself. I realized that I was not content simply doing financial counseling. As a counselor, there are strict limitations and I could in no way act as a financial adviser or a financial planner. Being frustrated by this limitation made it clear that financial planning is my true calling.

Every day, I find new ways to better serve our clients. And working with professionals that share the same values and vision as I do, I have no doubt CI Financial will continue to grow and make a real difference in our communities.

Luis Rosa, CFP®, EA

About Luis Rosa, CFP®, EA

I came to the U.S. at age 11 from the Dominican Republic. I was inspired by my parents to work hard and pursue an education. However, I was not taught about personal finance at home or at school and had to learn the hard way.

Some of the biggest money mistakes I made when I was younger:

I failed to pay myself first. I tried to save what was left after spending, instead of spending what was left after saving.

I over-borrowed on my student loans in college for “living expenses” which really was translation for Spring Break in Cancun!

I got credit cards in my freshman year of college before I even got a job! (To be fair, they did include the credit card applications inside the books at the bookstore, I could not resist!)

I became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional in order to help others pursue their goals. I do my best to keep it simple, so no fancy jargon or investment terms. It’s all about your vision of success and how I can help you on your way to building a better financial future.

I currently live in Pasadena, CA with my wife, Alison. I lived in New York for the majority of my adult life, and currently travel back there during the year to visit family and existing clients. When not helping a client, volunteering, or hosting an event, you can find me eating at one of my favorite Vegan restaurants or visiting a beach or walking trail in the Los Angeles area.

Austin Hon, CFP®

About Austin Hon, CFP®

I am the CEO and Founder of Momentum Private Wealth Management. Founded in 2019, Momentum Private Wealth is an Austin Texas based, independent fee-only wealth management firm. I have over 15 years experience working in the financial investment and planning industry.

I first began my career in finance by joining one of the biggest mutual fund companies in the world in a customer service role, and as they say, it was all downhill from there. I quickly moved into more seasoned roles, and with a location change to the San Francisco Bay Area, I moved into the Private Wealth Management side of the business. It was there I found my true love for helping individuals with their wealth management and financial planning needs.

Over the next 10 years I had the opportunity to work for two smaller RIA firms where I eventually decided to start my own firm here in the heart of Austin, Texas. The core focus of Momentum Private Wealth Management is to provide transparent and focused investment and financial planning services to individuals and families who are looking to demystify the world of finance.

I graduated from the University of California Santa Cruz in 2004 and I obtained the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation in August of 2011.

Charles Thomas, CFP®

About Charles Thomas, CFP®

My name is Charles Thomas. I am a Certified Financial Planner® and founder of Intrepid Eagle Finance. We work with Christian families on their journey to financial freedom.

The first time I ever taught someone about finance was on a school trip to a roller skating rink when I was in the fifth grade. I spent the bus ride teaching a classmate about the value of saving. My career has been spent around the same basic premise: help others to be wise with their finances.

I have been working with people and their money for over 14 years of my career. I have had experience at global financial firms in a wide variety of roles. This diverse experience has included everything from helping people who just received their first paycheck to counseling millionaires in the financial crisis to helping large corporations provide retirement plans for their employees.

I completed a double major at Appalachian State University and hold Bachelor degrees in Music and Marketing. I later earned an MBA at the University of South Carolina’s Moore School of Business.

I started Intrepid Eagle Finance to serve a community I believe has unique needs. Christian families face the challenge of balancing the needs of Mom and Dad, children, work, church and other things craving resources. The financial component of this difficult balancing act can be stressful to harmonize for this kind of family. How do I know this? My family is part of this group too!

That’s why I started Intrepid Eagle. I spend my days helping families like mine who value things like God, Family, and Country. I help families to find financial freedom while honoring what is important for today, tomorrow, and the future.

I help families to find financial freedom while honoring what is important for today, tomorrow, and the future.

I am an active supporter of independent education and homeschooling. My wife and I are active supporters of helping others get started and find success with their own homeschool journey.

When I am not working with other families, I spend time with my own family. My wife Amy and I make our home in South Carolina with our three children. Our family is active in our homeschool each day where we work hard and play hard. We spend our breaks on time outdoors, playing music, traveling, and serving our church family.
