I get to wake up every day excited to get to work because I combined the career I love (financial planning) with my hobby, side-gig of real estate investing! As a Real Estate Investor myself and an avid researcher on all things real estate and financial planning, I am here to help you reach all your financial and real estate goals.

Our comprehensive financial planning includes real estate consulting, investment management, long-term tax planning, insurance and risk management, estate planning, and retirement planning. We’re here to make sure you have everything you need to live your best life now and into retirement.

When I’m not meeting with clients, nerding out on real estate or researching tax strategies for financial planning, I can be found adventuring outside with my wife and three daughters or by the fireplace drinking coffee.

If you would like to know more about Renovate Financial Planning and how we could help you, please reach out! We would love to have a free phone consultation with you to see if we would be a good fit!

About Jill Isbell, CFP®

Jill Isbell has made it her life’s passion to provide guidance and education to all her clients that they may take control of their finances and live the life they deserve both today and tomorrow.  She believes every person should have access to a financial professional they can trust; she works first to solve short term needs then focuses on preserving and preparing for long term goals.  Jill graduated from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs with an Accounting degree and enjoyed working in the Accounting profession for several years.  In 2007 she changed her career path to wealth management and her passion was official when she received her CFP in 2015.  Jill prides herself on being a student of her craft and is always on a path to increase her knowledge and expertise to better serve her clients.

Jill moved to Colorado in 1996 from California and has had the opportunity to take advantage of what the beautiful state of Colorado has to offer.  She has come to learn that the world is best seen from the perspective given at the top of a mountain.  She has twin boys whom she has lived her life for and has loved more than life itself.  Current hobbies outside of the office involve time spent in either the garden or the mountains, and most precious moments are those shared with her children and good friends.  She has spent much of her available time involved in the community that she is proud to call home.  In recent years she has served as President of both Lions Club and the local Chamber of Commerce.  The most rewarding part of her career is the relationships she makes with her clients and she considers it a privilege to be of service to them in the most important and sometimes difficult times of their lives.

Brian Face, CFP®, CRPC®

About Brian Face, CFP®, CRPC®

I believe my strength and focus in finance comes from being a devoted husband and father, as well as, a proud Western Michigan University Alumni. I grew up in the Kalamazoo area and now live with my family in Portage, MI. I love watching college football, playing hockey, and giving to the community.

I founded Face 2 Face on a vision that started when I was a young teenager. My father used to take me to factories so I could watch him give financial education seminars to factory workers about their 401k options. That experience and my years of working for a large firm set my vision for wanting a firm that had no minimum asset levels. This gives me the ability to work with clients that want conflict-free advice on topics ranging from college planning to their 401k and all the way up to their retirement. I wanted to make a firm that was different. That’s why I built a firm to serve not only those who are retired but also the 30, 40 and 50-year-olds who want help along the way. I saw from working at larger firms that clients would come to me at retirement and they would have the money that they have, which may or may not have been enough. I felt that if I could help them earlier to make small changes, their future retirement would be in a much better place. This is why I offer different options, from hourly planning to full comprehensive financial planning.

Neil Mahoney, CFP®

About Neil Mahoney, CFP®

My name is Neil Mahoney and I’m a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional who loves to help special needs families and people with disabilities enjoy life, make the most out of their money, and live the best life possible.

As a father of three kids, including twins with disabilities, my wife Rebecca and I have first-hand experience with many of the financial and life challenges special needs families face. I’m here to help special needs families and people with disabilities be as strong as possible financially to help reduce financial stress and increase quality of life.

My ideal clients are special needs families, people with disabilities, professionals serving the disability community, and good-hearted people who are or commit to become financial or volunteer supporters of the disability community.

I absolutely love playing table tennis (ping pong) and before the pandemic was playing 5+ days per week. I have a lifelong passion for trains and model railroading, much to the dismay of my wife, and especially enjoy “operating sessions” and getting stuck waiting at railroad crossings. RVing in our 41-foot trailer is new adventure for our family and we have enjoyed getting outside more often.

Thomas J. Duffy, CFP®, MBA

About Thomas J. Duffy, CFP®, MBA, CRPC

I am the founder and principal advisor dedicated to working with new widows/widowers who are looking to:

• understand & organize their new financial lives;
• evaluate & prioritize financial decisions;
• establish a financial life plan to live forward without fear.

I do not work for an insurance company or investment firm. It’s just me and you. In fact I will put in writing that I am a fiduciary and will put your interests first.

I can differentiate my firm vs most others in that I charge on a fixed-fee basis for financial planning.

A one-time financial plan costs $5,900. I do not require you to hire me to manage investments for us to work together.

For ongoing financial planning, fees begin at $8,000 and range upward to a maximum (for most situations) of $20,000. Your net worth is our proxy for complexity so for those with net worth exceeding $6 million your fee may be higher.

Although my physical location is near the beach in Eastern Monmouth county, New Jersey I can work remotely with clients regardless of location.

Daniel D. (Dan) Joss, CFP®, MBA, RLP®, CKA®

About Daniel D. (Dan) Joss, CFP®, MBA, RLP®, CKA®

Dan Joss is a seasoned Financial Life Planning professional. Dan Joss is among a small force of Life Planners, less than 200 in the U.S. and only a few dozen in the mid-Atlantic area. Dan founded Joss Financial in 2015, and now, in 2020, has joined with Katherine Brown to create Joss Brown Wealth Advisors. Their shared vision and faith along with combined talents and experiences will further enhance their clients’ Life Plans.

Dan excels at asking poignant questions to determine what inspires and motivates his clients. These initial planning sessions will be introspective and challenging. Long-time clients give testimony that one must think deeply in terms of their own personal values and ask questions like:

“If you had more time or money, what would you do?”

“What do you want to accomplish or attain so you will feel that you’ve had a life well-lived?”

“What moves, touches, or inspires you?”

Dan’s approach to financial planning: “living what matters” was born of his own life experiences. Originally from Seattle, Washington, Dan is a graduate of the University of Southern California, where he studied Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting and Finance. In 1988 he was commissioned in the US Army, later earning his Ranger Tab and Master Parachutist. In 1999, Dan earned a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Financial Planning from Regent University while still on active duty. His CFP® designation was awarded in 2003, and he earned his Registered Life Planning (RLP®) designation from the Kinder Institute of Life Planning in 2009.

Before moving to Hampton Roads, Dan co-founded and partnered in a wealth management firm in Northern Virginia where he helped high net worth clients maximize their financial resources to achieve their life goals. Whether it was portfolio management, maximizing after-tax returns, real estate opportunities, inter-generational wealth transfer, or a host of other unique financial issues, Dan has reaped a wide range of real-world experiences that lend greatly to helping clients achieve fulfillment. Northern Virginia Magazine and the Washingtonian have even recognized Dan as a “Top Financial Planner” over the years. He has been quoted in local print and online publications, with clients volunteering to tell their personal financial stories to national publications like Smart Money and Kiplinger’s.

“I am committed to helping clients develop intentional road-maps to a life of fulfillment by using their wealth and talents for that purpose.”

During Dan’s tenure in NoVA, he created and implemented a Life Plan for his own family. It was this major lifestyle change that prompted his book, “10,080 Minutes” where he shares how he became laser-focused on his faith, his family, and creating the time to enjoy both. These epiphanies led Dan to Hampton Roads, where today he invests his time with his wife and family, living life focused on what matters most. When Dan is not working with clients, he enjoys consistently taking his family to church and devoting time daily to reading the Bible. Otherwise, he is on the golf course, taking walks in Colonial Williamsburg, or planning short getaways with his family.
