Investment Management & Financial Planning for Professional Women in STEM or Education or Hanford Pre-Retirees * Fiduciary * Fee-Only * CFP® Pro*

I believe in the power of planning. I help independent-minded women, especially those in STEM and education careers, build wealth and achieve what is important to them and their loved ones.

“How is she different from other advisors out there?”

– The absolute, most important thing? My relationship with YOU. I answer only to you. I don’t work for some large, obscure company who is calling the shots.
YOU and your family’s interests come first. That is what being a Fiduciary means.
YOU know the cost & you write the check. Nothing is hidden & I don’t receive compensation from anywhere else. That’s what Fee-Only means.
YOU are in the driver’s seat of your financial life. I’m the guide to help you along the way.
– I sell no products. What do I sell? Advice, expert coordination of your financial life, & me and my firm helping you gain clarity and control so you can achieve what’s important to you.
– The teacher in me seeks to improve lives through education, especially for women.
– Have college-bound kids? My specialized knowledge helps families with college-bound kids prepare for the cost of college and develop not only a savings plan, but a 4-year plan to pay. Nobody wants parents to jeopardize their retirement to achieve the dream of a college education for their kids.
– Think you need to have saved a lot of money to work with me? Wrong! My business structure is unique. If you have a solid income, you don’t need any assets to work with me. Some advisors require $250k to $1,000,000 of assets just to be considered. This is important for younger people starting out.
– I make house calls. Yes, really.
– What’s required is the desire to dig deep, discover what you truly want out of life for yourself & your loved ones, and together, we can make it happen.

About Meg Bartelt, CFP®, MSFP, MS, RLP®

Hi, I’m Meg. I’m the founder and lead planner at Flow Financial Planning. We are dedicated to women in their early-to-mid career in the tech industry.

We help women take advantage of the many financial opportunities that the tech industry offers. We want you to build a strong financial foundation so that you have more choice in both your personal and professional lives.

Do you:
• Make more money than you expected to? Are you anxious that you’re not doing the right thing with it?
• Have no one in your life you can talk to about your money?
• Have more money than you need right now, and you don’t want to waste this opportunity?
• Receive company stock but are unsure how to use it?
• Dream about leaving the tech industry, but wonder how you could walk away?
• Live in a high cost-of-living area and dream of buying a home?

Together we can work through it all. Get more clarity on what you want in life. Identify specific tasks you can do to organize, simplify, and strengthen your finances, so you can create that life for yourself.

I also know that your financial future depends as much on your career as it does on traditional financial guidance. In addition to being your financial guide, I want to help you cultivate a broader community of professionals–from recruiters to health professionals to career coaches–to grow your career, despite the stress and frustration that you can so often feel in this industry.

My credentials and education:
• Certified Financial Planner® professional
• Registered Life Planner®
• Masters of Science in Financial Planning, Golden Gate University
• Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Wellesley College

Prior to becoming a financial planner, I worked as a technical writer for 10 years in the San Francisco Bay Area, mostly in the software-security sector.

After San Francisco and two cross-country moves, my family settled in Bellingham, WA. (I can see Canada from my front porch!) So many of my interests—hiking, biking, cooking, yoga, never-ending kale—are part of the fabric of life here.

If you’d like to get some financial clarity, please set up a FREE consultation. If nothing else, check out my blog. Every week I write about issues pertinent to women in tech. You don’t want to miss the Adventures of Block Woman, do you?

Cady North, CFP®, MBA

About Cady North, CFP®, MBA

I’m the founder of North Financial — a boutique financial planning firm that specializes in helping women dream big and get their personal finances on track. A lot of my clients aren’t entrepreneurs yet, but they want to be or at least know they don’t want to work at the same desk job forever.

To give your dream the best chance of success, your personal finances need to be in order. However, with your busy personal and professional life, you probably don’t have time to wade through mountains of news and information to figure out what to do about your budget, investing, or retirement planning. This is where I can help.

My mission is to provide effective and affordable financial planning tools to women who desire to be their best self — financially, professionally, and personally. I help women dream bigger in all these areas so they can live out their greater purpose.

My parents were small business owners, and I learned to balance a business checkbook by the age of 13. I definitely have the entrepreneurship bug in me, but it’s taken me a while to get here. I spent more than a decade advising high-level executives of Fortune 500 companies while working for industry giants such as Bloomberg and Financial Executives International. I then took the leap to start my own business helping women and entrepreneurs plan for their futures. I have offices in both Washington D.C. and San Diego, and I work via virtual screen sharing and video conference so we can work together no matter where you live.

One of the reasons I love working for myself is I can plan my own schedule and give back time to causes I appreciate. Financial literacy is one of those causes for me and I like to get involved by providing free financial planning workshops to local organizations.

If you’d like to have the financial freedom to do something new in life, schedule a FREE consultation with me. I’d love to chat with you!

Katie Brewer, CFP®

About Katie Brewer, CFP®

Hi. I’m Katie Brewer, CFP® and I started Your Richest Life because I believe that busy individuals working to balance their professional and personal lives should have access to a financial coach who specializes in what they need.

When you’re a professional under 55, you’re juggling a high-intensity job along with the demands of life and family. Financial planning can easily fall to the wayside, but there isn’t a better time for you to be making financial strides.

Whether you’re a doctor, an attorney, a project manager, or an IT and business professional, I understand your struggle to make time for your finances, and I’d like to help.

I work with you to relieve money-related stress by helping you clarify your goals, identify and eliminate obstacles to those goals, and create an action plan to achieve them. I provide comprehensive financial coaching through fee-only services.

Since I don’t sell any products, I am free of the conflicts of interest that can arise from those arrangements. I have only one person to answer to for the work I do – you!

Together, we will develop a plan to put you in charge of your financial future. You don’t have to feel afraid about your money when you are in control of it!

I’ve been fortunate to accumulate over 15 years of experience working with clients and their finances through some of the most forward-thinking organizations in finance.

The Your Richest Life philosophy has been shaped through experiences with technology pioneer LearnVest as well as smaller boutique firms that focused on high net worth individuals. This philosophy includes comprehensive financial coaching and fee-only services.

I was just crazy enough to pursue my CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) Certification and my MBA while working full time because I was so focused on achieving my goals, so I understand the passion you have behind achieving yours. And I have the skill to help you balance your current goals with your long term needs.

With my expertise, I can help you with retirement planning, figuring out where that pesky hole in your budget is, purchasing your first or second home, evaluating your employee benefits, and plenty more.

Along the way I’ve built some credentials that give me the expertise I need to do a great job for my clients:

-Completed educational, exam, experience and ethics requirements to become a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™
-Received my MBA from Texas Tech University (while working full time!)
-Completed Personal Financial Planning coursework at Southern Methodist University
-Received my Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University
-Quoted in The New York Times, Forbes, and Yahoo Finance

In addition, it’s important to me to do something to help the next generation, so I volunteer with Junior Achievement to teach financial literacy.

On a personal note, I live in the Dallas area, but I’m originally from Austin and get back there whenever I can. I met my husband at the Mexican food joint where we both worked while in college and it was love over guacamole. We have a 10-year old daughter who’s a Lego maniac.

When I’m not coaching my financial clients or spending time with my little family, I like to sing alto in a philanthropic choir, hang out with my adopted greyhound Fran, and get outdoors for a hike or a concert whenever I can.

If you’d like to talk to me about financial planning for Gen X and Y, please set up a FREE consultation with me at
