About Leslie Ransom, CFP®

You are motivated to create your own path – thinking outside the usual boxes. As you build your life, budgeting, saving, investing and planning are critical to living well and following your dreams. We are a fee-only planning firm with a background in arts and entertainment looking to help you carve out your future.

I am Leslie Ransom, CFP®. With over 20 years in sales and marketing in the independent music industry, I have an awareness of the challenges facing artists, musicians, or anyone looking to build a business or career not tied to a 9-5 job and a regular paycheck. We cater to self-employed entrepreneurs who are looking to plan for a future on their terms.

I founded Indie Financial Planning as an alternative to an industry widely viewed as only serving the very wealthy. There are no investment minimums to work with us. We’re an independent resource ready to partner with you when you’re ready to take control of your financial life.

We know that financial planning involves much more than just investments. We consider the many moving parts that might affect your financial situation – from budgeting to taxes – and work with you to build a plan based on trust and with an understanding that your situation is specific to you. We focus on education and planning to help you achieve your goals.

We treat planning as a partnership. We provide you with the tools and knowledge to take control of your finances and offer advice and expertise to answer your questions and establish your goals. Ongoing planning allows us to create a road map with clients and travel that path alongside them, adjusting for changes along the way.

After graduating from Pomona College with degrees in Economics and French, I moved from California to Boston for a change of scenery. There, I began working in a record store and eventually moved into sales and distribution for a small independent record label (TAANG!). After several years, I moved to Chicago where I continued working in the independent music industry including a 16 year stretch as Head of Sales and Marketing for Touch and Go Records.
After leaving the music industry in 2009, I saw an opportunity to offer budgeting, investment and general planning advice to the many talented and creative types in need of financial planning. I went to Northwestern University and received my Certified Financial Planner™ designation in 2013.

Raquel Hinman, CFP®

About Raquel Hinman, CFP®

I strive to help people committed to creating a better financial life for themselves. From my firm in Erie, Colorado, I provide individually tailored advice and realistic, implementable solutions for busy individuals.

Twenty-plus years working for national and regional firms focused on wealthy clients in Denver and Boulder taught me how to provide highly personalized advice and coaching with simplicity and clarity. Today I am especially passionate about helping people like me: Gen X professionals trying to navigate the myriad challenges of saving for retirement, kids, aging parents and busy households.

What sets Hinman Financial Planning apart, though, is the ability to connect the art and science of financial planning. I run the numbers but also spend time exploring your values (your “Why?”) because your values and beliefs around money drive your actions. While you shouldn’t expect each meeting to turn into a session on a counselor’s couch, we do circle back from time-to-time to ensure our work together truly reflects your values and goals.

A Colorado native, I earned a B.S. in Finance from CU-Boulder and am a member of several professional organizations. I also serve as Treasurer and Board Member for Mental Health Partners. When away from work, I enjoy quiet evenings at home with my husband. With two teenage boys, though, my evenings and weekends are frequently spent suffering through homework, chores and, soon, teaching my older son to drive. We are avid basketball fans (Go Buffs!) and enjoy many of the outdoor activities Colorado has to offer.

Trace Tisler, CFP®

About Trace Tisler, CFP®

Trace Tisler, CFP® has been providing financial planning and investment advice for nearly 10 years.

After a short stint in the non-profit world, Trace joined a nationally recognized wealth management firm. Upon securing the Certified Financial Planner designation, he was promoted to Director of Wealth Management at the age of 27. As such, he was in charge of leading the firm’s financial planning processes and overseeing the investments of the firm’s multi-million dollar clients.

Trace started Epic Financial because he saw a need: most advisors wouldn’t work with those who didn’t have the existing multi-million dollar portfolio needed to meet the company’s minimum investment levels.

“It was interesting working with wealthy people. I learned a lot about what makes someone successful. I realized that I preferred helping people on the path to becoming successful as opposed to holding the hand of the already-wealthy. I found that the “average Joe” and members of today’s younger generations have so much potential, but when they have questions or need a bit of help, no one is there. Too many are being overlooked and I was compelled to do something about it.”

That’s the heart of Epic Financial. Our ‘no minimums, no sales’ business model is designed to allow you to get the advice you are looking for.

Through our monthly retainer service model we can provide the type ongoing financial planning, advice, and management you are looking for without the need for a million dollars or having to buy something.

Using this model we can help those just starting out and trying to balance your new career, college debt, and savings or those starting to think about retirement and wondering if they have enough and what to do with it all.

Katie Brewer, CFP®

About Katie Brewer, CFP®

Hi. I’m Katie Brewer, CFP® and I started Your Richest Life because I believe that busy individuals working to balance their professional and personal lives should have access to a financial coach who specializes in what they need.

When you’re a professional under 55, you’re juggling a high-intensity job along with the demands of life and family. Financial planning can easily fall to the wayside, but there isn’t a better time for you to be making financial strides.

Whether you’re a doctor, an attorney, a project manager, or an IT and business professional, I understand your struggle to make time for your finances, and I’d like to help.

I work with you to relieve money-related stress by helping you clarify your goals, identify and eliminate obstacles to those goals, and create an action plan to achieve them. I provide comprehensive financial coaching through fee-only services.

Since I don’t sell any products, I am free of the conflicts of interest that can arise from those arrangements. I have only one person to answer to for the work I do – you!

Together, we will develop a plan to put you in charge of your financial future. You don’t have to feel afraid about your money when you are in control of it!

I’ve been fortunate to accumulate over 15 years of experience working with clients and their finances through some of the most forward-thinking organizations in finance.

The Your Richest Life philosophy has been shaped through experiences with technology pioneer LearnVest as well as smaller boutique firms that focused on high net worth individuals. This philosophy includes comprehensive financial coaching and fee-only services.

I was just crazy enough to pursue my CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) Certification and my MBA while working full time because I was so focused on achieving my goals, so I understand the passion you have behind achieving yours. And I have the skill to help you balance your current goals with your long term needs.

With my expertise, I can help you with retirement planning, figuring out where that pesky hole in your budget is, purchasing your first or second home, evaluating your employee benefits, and plenty more.

Along the way I’ve built some credentials that give me the expertise I need to do a great job for my clients:

-Completed educational, exam, experience and ethics requirements to become a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™
-Received my MBA from Texas Tech University (while working full time!)
-Completed Personal Financial Planning coursework at Southern Methodist University
-Received my Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University
-Quoted in The New York Times, Forbes, and Yahoo Finance

In addition, it’s important to me to do something to help the next generation, so I volunteer with Junior Achievement to teach financial literacy.

On a personal note, I live in the Dallas area, but I’m originally from Austin and get back there whenever I can. I met my husband at the Mexican food joint where we both worked while in college and it was love over guacamole. We have a 10-year old daughter who’s a Lego maniac.

When I’m not coaching my financial clients or spending time with my little family, I like to sing alto in a philanthropic choir, hang out with my adopted greyhound Fran, and get outdoors for a hike or a concert whenever I can.

If you’d like to talk to me about financial planning for Gen X and Y, please set up a FREE consultation with me at https://yourrichestlifeplanning.com/schedule/
