About Alison James, CFP®, PMP

“A goal without a plan is just a wish.” – Antoine de Saint-Exupery

I founded WorthWise Financial Partners because I believe that everyone needs a financial plan. I specialize in helping families of all shapes and sizes juggle saving for college and retirement while living a full life along the way. I particularly enjoy working with young families just starting to build wealth and helping LGBTQ families navigate their unique challenges.

I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, and a Project Management Professional® with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and English from Rice University. Prior to founding WorthWise, I worked at Aon Hewitt for over 20 years working with large companies to help their employees protect their families and achieve financial goals through retirement and insurance programs. As I talked with friends and neighbors with growing families I recognized the challenges they faced juggling competing financial priorities. I also observed the missteps they often took through lack of the time or knowledge to successfully navigate their financial lives and the perception that financial planning was just for the already wealthy. I am now putting my decades of experience to work helping families turn their hopes and dreams into achievable goals!

I live in Houston, Texas with my husband and youngest son while my oldest attends college – a very expensive out-of-state private college I might add, so I know from personal experience how that can be! When I’m not working with my clients or reading about financial news and trends, I enjoy cooking, wine, gardening and SCUBA diving.

I look forward to meeting with you to discuss how I can bring financial peace of mind and confidence to you and your family and help you live the life you envision!

Rosario Chacón, CFP®, FBS®

About Rosario Chacon, CFP®, FBS®, CSLP®, MBA, CLC, EA

Hi! I am Rosario Chacón. I founded Wealth-Source Financial in 2019 to help professionals like me and my close friends and their families: Often first generation – graduating from college and/or immigrants -, with school debt and/or starting a business, while building a career and a family. In my years at multinational and boutique firms, I learned that one size does not fit all. To better serve my community and clients, I became a fiduciary (CFP®) to work for your best interest, a Financial Behavior Specialist (FBS®) to understand your values and respect your decisions, a Student Loan Planner (CSLP®) because I know first-hand that we must invest in ourselves to make changes in our journeys. I am also an Enrolled Agent, which gives me the opportunity to better serve my clients in a holistic and cost-efficient manner.

Leighann Miko, CFP®, RLP

About Leighann Miko, CFP®, RLP

I believe financial guidance should be equally accessible to all, but this is rarely the case in the traditional world of financial planning. I’m here to change that. Like my company name suggests, I founded Equalis Financial to serve underserved communities like LGBTQ+ creatives and other thoughtfully ambitious professionals. My “why” is to help others create the financially secure life I never thought I’d have after growing up in a financial volatile environment.

Financial stability isn’t something you hope for; it’s something you plan for. As a creative working in a volatile industry, having the right financial plan is essential. It can act as a strong anchor in financially uncertain times, but only if the plan is uniquely built for you. At Equalis Financial, we’re here to help.

-Financial Planning-
To get where you want to go, you’ll need a custom roadmap that’s built strategically around your goals. We take a human-centered approach to financial planning, focusing more on you than your money. In this process, we will help you realign your financial mindsets and habits with your long-term vision, resulting in a more financially secure future.

-Business Management-
If you are looking to outsource the day-to-day operations of your business, we are here to help. These related services—including tax preparation and planning, payroll processing, and monthly bookkeeping—are available exclusively to our financial planning clients.

-Investment Management-
As an investor, you have the ability to effectively “put your money where your mouth is” by investing in social causes you believe in. From environment conservation to improving the gender pay gap to reducing racial inequality, we will customize and manage your portfolio with a carefully planned investment strategy while maintaining the direction and discipline you need to reach your goals.

If any of this resonates with you, let’s chat. The first meeting is on us. There’s no cost and no pressure, just a conversation to see if we’re a good match.

About Jim Frazin, CFP®, AIF

My financial planning firm serves working-class, middle-class, and LGBTQ people and families of all kinds. We are fee-only and specialize in socially responsible investing. We help people avoid getting crushed by capitalism while aligning their resources with their goals for a sustainable economy and planet. We help clients move capital to more rational pursuits: out of petroleum, into solar, out of exploitation of children, adults and the earth, and into community-building and sustainable investments.

I was born in Colorado and grew up all over the US, but mostly in New Mexico. I have lived in India and Nicaragua where I went to do volunteer work. I attended college in Southern California and did volunteer work in South Central LA. I was a working artist in the LA area for several years. I returned to New Mexico in 1971 and started organizing and managing cooperatives and doing anti-nuke work.

I have had many careers: including artist, carpenter, organic farmer, for-profit and non-profit manager, auto and motorcycle (still ride) mechanic, and, now, financial planner. I love building, fixing, and making things. I moved to the Bay Area in 1983. I have a grown son, two grandchildren, and a tween daughter.

After many years in corporate finance, and wanting a more personal and hands-on professional environment, she joined a financial planning firm in Davis at its inception in 2006. As an ideal resource for clients, she decisively helped to grow this small company into a local powerhouse.

Susan combines a focus on client service and effective communication with advanced analytical skills to help clients move closer to their goals. As a financial planner and IRS enrolled agent, she incorporates tax planning into comprehensive financial planning and investment management.

She finds it especially gratifying to work with women experiencing a life transition, helping them make the informed decisions necessary to better their lives now and in the future.

About Carolyn Cook, CFP®, CRPC

The first time I remember standing up for injustice was on the playground during 2nd grade recess. A couple of bullies were picking on a scared girl. I marched up and gave these bullies a piece of my mind and the girl and I become best friends. After entering the Financial Services industry in 2007, I quickly realized there were many “bullies” that used their knowledge to intimidate clients into pricey products and services.

What About Us Financial was founded in 2019 to stand up against the status quo in Financial Services. We are the 99% that deserve our own beautifully successful life. Money is power. It brings us security and confidence. Saving and investing is not only for the rich. We can all prosper and thrive through thoughtful budgeting, savings and investing. This is my mission in life – to empower the underserved so they may obtain financial freedom and success.

I’m a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM Professional (CFP®), a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®), and hold a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in Management Innovation & Change. I have the letters to demonstrate knowledge, but it is more important to convey my heart to demonstrate compassion. I am a Fiduciary, which is the highest standard of client care. I must always act in the client’s best interest, even when it’s in opposition to mine. (This is big stuff! Do some Googling to see the efforts to hold all advisors to this standard. They have failed, so it’s still a scary world.)

My office is located inside my home in Bellbrook, Ohio. I see no reason to tax environmental (and personal) resources to open a fancy office space. We can meet at your favorite coffee shop, restaurant, office or kitchen table. And there is always video conferencing through Zoom, FaceTime or Skype.

Danika Waddell, CFP®, RLP®, CSLP®

About Danika Waddell, CFP®, RLP®, CSLP®

My focus is on women (and their partners) in the early to middle stages of their careers. Specifically, I absolutely love helping clients who receive equity compensation as part of their income. It’s extremely common in the tech world and while there are plenty of brilliant people working in tech, many of them do not have the time or inclination to manage the influx of stock.

What I love about financial planning is the relationships and the process. I’m not overly focused on investment performance, nor do I plan to deliver a massive financial plan which might be better used as a doorstop. In my view, financial planning is a highly dynamic process, with many moving pieces that are constantly in flux. At Xena FP, I work with my clients on an ongoing basis, to help them navigate whatever life delivers. I strive to both educate and empower clients as we develop a collaborative relationship.

While originally from Western New York, I’ve lived in Seattle for 20 years. Along with my husband, our chaotic household includes our two daughters plus two cats and a puppy. We’re huge travelers and are happiest when we’re planning our next overseas adventure. In 2019, we had a grand European vacation which included 6 countries in 16 days, even driving to Spain for lunch one afternoon. Current trips are on hiatus, but we also love being in the mountains (skiing, running) and throwing a frisbee.

Sunil Harpalani, CFP®, CPA

About Sunil Harpalani, CFP®, CPA

Hi, I’m Sunil.

I provide fiduciary comprehensive financial planning services, including investment management, with a focus on income tax efficiency. I do not sell any financial products nor do I receive any commissions.

My niche is supporting high middle income professionals. I have expertise in helping clients who receive employer equity grants (stock options, RSUs, ESPP etc.), and helping immigrants and the LGBT community.

I am qualified in the fields of Comprehensive Financial Planning, Investment Management and Income Taxes. I am a CFP (Certified Financial Planner ) and a CPA.

I believe people benefit most by managing their finances holistically with a mix of investment advice and comprehensive financial planning including income taxes, education, retirement, estate planning and insurance for risk mitigation. I recommend low-expense and diversified equity index investment portfolios.

I guide clients through their financial options and provide clarity, without using technical jargon, to help make informed decisions with the assurance that a trusted professional is proactively looking out for them.

My fee structure is transparent, and is based on the complexity of financial planning, family size and the value of investments under advice / management.

I arrived in the U.S. from India ~three decades back to go to graduate school, with just enough funds for my first semester. Since then, I have stayed on track to achieve financial independence by getting a good education and working hard in professional roles in finance and accounting. The key to my financial success has been having a financial plan, and monitoring and updating it as needed for changes in circumstances and goals.

In 2017, I launched Holistic View Financial to help individuals and families plan and manage their financial life optimally. I like listening to client’s stories, passions, concerns and values. I then develop a personalized financial plan and coach clients to stay on track to attain life goals.

I strongly believe in giving back to the community and currently participate in pro-bono financial programs, helping cancer patients manage their financial situation and preparing income tax returns for low income residents.

I live in Boston’s Jamaica Plain neighborhood. When I am not working on my clients’ financial plans, I walk or bicycle around the city, play tennis, read, enjoy diverse eateries, go to movies, attend concerts and travel to destinations near and afar.

Please reach out to me if we are a right fit.
