Shea Newton, CFP®, RICP®

About Shea Newton, CFP®, RICP®

My name is Shea and I help you get your financial life organized and on track so that you can do the things you love to do! I was a single mom for 20 years and learned a lot through that journey that I want to share with you. By virtue of my own story and my 15+ years of experience helping people reach their financial goals, I am confident that I can help you with your own situation.

After 15 years in the DC metro area, I just moved to the Florida panhandle with my husband and 2 dogs-Rocky & Marley. My daughter is in medical school in southwest Virginia and I grew up in Alabama. When I’m not helping clients with their finances, you can find me travelling to new places, getting crafty or doing some type of home improvement.

I am a CFP® and a RICP®. These are my Clifton Strengths from the book Strengthsfinder 2.0:

Deliberative
Relator
Analytical
Responsibility
Futuristic

I look forward to getting to know you and supporting you in living your best life.

About Andrew Langdon, CFP®, CSLP®, EA

We recognize how important financial education is to the veterinary community. Becoming more financially secure not only improves the lives and well-being of you and your family, but also can help improve the lives and well-being of your patients and clients.

At VetWorth, we offer fiduciary, fee-only financial planning specifically to veterinarians. From tax planning strategies for relief veterinarians to analyzing disability options for specialty vets to retirement planning scenarios for practice owners, our goal is to positively impact the lives of our clients through collaborative financial planning.

I made the decision to serve veterinarians after reading a Merck study showing more than half of veterinarians would not recommend the profession to their peers, with low incomes and high student debt being the overwhelming reasons. By working with vets to improve their financial situation, I hope to help reverse this negative perception many vets feel.

I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, Certified Student Loan Professional, and Enrolled Agent with the IRS. I am based out of Peachtree City, GA and serve clients both locally and across the country.

About Cady North, CFP®, MBA

I’m the founder of North Financial — a boutique financial planning firm that specializes in helping women dream big and get their personal finances on track. A lot of my clients aren’t entrepreneurs yet, but they want to be or at least know they don’t want to work at the same desk job forever.

To give your dream the best chance of success, your personal finances need to be in order. However, with your busy personal and professional life, you probably don’t have time to wade through mountains of news and information to figure out what to do about your budget, investing, or retirement planning. This is where I can help.

My mission is to provide effective and affordable financial planning tools to women who desire to be their best self — financially, professionally, and personally. I help women dream bigger in all these areas so they can live out their greater purpose.

My parents were small business owners, and I learned to balance a business checkbook by the age of 13. I definitely have the entrepreneurship bug in me, but it’s taken me a while to get here. I spent more than a decade advising high-level executives of Fortune 500 companies while working for industry giants such as Bloomberg and Financial Executives International. I then took the leap to start my own business helping women and entrepreneurs plan for their futures. I have offices in both Washington D.C. and San Diego, and I work via virtual screen sharing and video conference so we can work together no matter where you live.

One of the reasons I love working for myself is I can plan my own schedule and give back time to causes I appreciate. Financial literacy is one of those causes for me and I like to get involved by providing free financial planning workshops to local organizations.

If you’d like to have the financial freedom to do something new in life, schedule a FREE consultation with me. I’d love to chat with you!

Leslie Ransom, CFP®

About Leslie Ransom, CFP®

You are motivated to create your own path – thinking outside the usual boxes. As you build your life, budgeting, saving, investing and planning are critical to living well and following your dreams. We are a fee-only planning firm with a background in arts and entertainment looking to help you carve out your future.

I am Leslie Ransom, CFP®. With over 20 years in sales and marketing in the independent music industry, I have an awareness of the challenges facing artists, musicians, or anyone looking to build a business or career not tied to a 9-5 job and a regular paycheck. We cater to self-employed entrepreneurs who are looking to plan for a future on their terms.

I founded Indie Financial Planning as an alternative to an industry widely viewed as only serving the very wealthy. There are no investment minimums to work with us. We’re an independent resource ready to partner with you when you’re ready to take control of your financial life.

We know that financial planning involves much more than just investments. We consider the many moving parts that might affect your financial situation – from budgeting to taxes – and work with you to build a plan based on trust and with an understanding that your situation is specific to you. We focus on education and planning to help you achieve your goals.

We treat planning as a partnership. We provide you with the tools and knowledge to take control of your finances and offer advice and expertise to answer your questions and establish your goals. Ongoing planning allows us to create a road map with clients and travel that path alongside them, adjusting for changes along the way.

After graduating from Pomona College with degrees in Economics and French, I moved from California to Boston for a change of scenery. There, I began working in a record store and eventually moved into sales and distribution for a small independent record label (TAANG!). After several years, I moved to Chicago where I continued working in the independent music industry including a 16 year stretch as Head of Sales and Marketing for Touch and Go Records.
After leaving the music industry in 2009, I saw an opportunity to offer budgeting, investment and general planning advice to the many talented and creative types in need of financial planning. I went to Northwestern University and received my Certified Financial Planner™ designation in 2013.
