I am the Founder of CareGen Wealth Management and a Wealth Advisor providing fee-only financial planning and wealth management services with customized solutions for my clients, with a primary focus on women.

My clients may be widowed, divorced, primary breadwinners, entrepreneurs, retirees, or inheritors. They’re looking for someone to literally and/or figuratively sit right next to them, hip to hip, as they make financial decisions that impact their lives and the lives of those who are important to them. My ultimate goal is to empower my clients to believe in themselves, make the most of their resources, make smart decisions, and forge better financial outcomes.

Prior to starting my own firm, I was a Vice President with Goldman Sachs, Personal Financial Management and have worked in the financial services industry since 2006 following an earlier career working in the aerospace and information systems industries. I studied Financial Planning at UC Berkeley, have an MBA from the University of Southern California, and a Bachelors degree in Mathematics and Economics from UC Santa Barbara. I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER(™) professional, and hold the Accredited Behavioral Finance Professional(℠) credential.

I live in Northern California with my husband where we raised our three children after living in Southern California and the Midwest earlier in my life. When I’m not working with clients, I love to visit my kids in Brooklyn, Phoenix, and Los Angeles. (If you’re curious, ask me about how this relates to my Family Mission Statement.) I also enjoy spending time in Park City, Utah downhill skiing, hiking, or seeing films at the annual Sundance Film Festival.

Dave’s experience in investment management and financial planning uniquely position him to serve as his client’s independent trusted advisor – a personal chief financial officer that can discreetly navigate the tides affecting your financial life.

Professional highlights include portfolio management on Union Bank municipal investment team which earned recognition as the best in the industry by Barron’s in 2008 and 2009; lead investment management responsibility at a $300M financial planning firm; and working with amazing entrepreneurs, executives, and families.

David’s education includes a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, a Certified Financial Planning (CFP) designation, and a U.C. Berkeley bachelor’s degree where he conducted a study on evidenced based investment management with Haas Professor of Investments David Distad.

We all have a unique set of gifts, talents, and possessions. It is our responsibility to steward them the best we can. I love partnering with purpose-driven families to execute their unique financial and legacy management system.

Initiate Impact seeks partnerships with families who care deeply about what they have and how they can make a positive impact in the world. The organization was founded by my business partner, Stacee Jacobs, and me after we spent a combined 27 years working in an alternate financial services business model.

Stacee and I spent many years working with people from various walks of life and noticed that every situation is unique. There was never any one product or service that fit every scenario. The one constant was that each situation required a lot of information gathering, research, comparisons, expertise in different areas, and decision making. We realized this because there were always multiple investment options, policies to choose from, contracts to decipher, elections to make, and other critical choices. We determined that advice was valuable. But what was most important, was a collaborative effort where everyone worked together and there was one central plan.

Partnering with Initiate Impact is a detailed, yet enjoyable process. We serve families on an ongoing basis making sure we are well-prepared for expected changes and nimble enough for those that are unexpected. I feel that this approach helps us be the best we can be and provides a fulfillment our previous role could not.

I live with my loving wife, Trisha (2007), and our cat, Kobe in Weston, FL. Trisha teaches kindergarten and enjoy exercising and traveling together.

As a Principal and Financial Planner at Outpost Advisors, Mark spends his time creating unique financial plans that power our clients’ family visions and dreams for life. Mark is raising three girls in Salt Lake City, Utah with his wife Amelia, who practices medicine as an Obstetrician and Gynecologist.

After graduating from Princeton University, Mark began his career at the International Monetary Fund teaching central bankers how to budget (whilst managing interest rates, monetary policy and political instability). In his free time he taught classes in financial literacy to DC-area families dealing with poverty. From there, he moved on to mortgage finance giant Freddie Mac, where he helped to execute the largest preferred equity capital raise in US history. Next, he spent a year at Jones Lang Lasalle managing a $750M asset portfolio for the Army, before relocating to Utah where he helped to build the outdoor retailer Backcountry.  Before leaving to found Outpost Advisors Mark spent 5 years as a leader at ExpertVoice, a technology startup funded by Bain Capital and Sorenson Capital.

Mark has had the great joy of leading individuals and families in budgeting, family visioneering and financial stewardship for several years – both at work and through volunteer roles at church. Mark can also often be found blogging about all of these at the website Abraham’s Wallet. Mark holds an MBA from The George Washington University with a focus on finance. When he’s not playing with spreadsheets, Mark enjoys everything on offer in the mountains of Utah, whether it’s skiing, trail running, hunting, climbing or riding bikes with his family.

Steven Kampschmidt is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional dedicated to assisting individuals and families in their pursuit of financial freedom. After establishing a practice within Merrill Lynch, he had an increasing desire to service his clients in a way that was unavailable at almost all other firms within the industry. It was at this point that he opted to create something new, and thus Freedom Found Financial was born.

Steven also has his MBA in finance and economics from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He currently resides in Boonton, NJ with his wife Jessica, his two daughters Adeline and Evelyn, as well as his two dogs Meadow and Summer. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He also uses his free time training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, playing beach volleyball down the shore, and snowboarding during the winter months.

Todd Sensing started FamilyVest because he wanted to draw on his more than two decades of financial and investment experience for the benefit of families. As a father of two children diagnosed with Autism, he understands how much planning goes into taking care of a family, particularly those with children with special needs. He finds it gratifying to help families achieve peace of mind in knowing that they are prepared to provide for their loved ones’ futures.

Before founding FamilyVest, Todd spent 20 years in the banking and financial industry, including with Bear Stearns; Donaldson, Lufkin, & Jenrette; and FHLBank Atlanta. Shortly before the mortgage crisis of 2007, he started Aardvark Market Neutral Fund, a long-short REIT fund, and successfully steered his clients through the economy’s turmoil.

Despite his career success, Todd believed his work could be more fulfilling if he applied his expertise to helping families of all kinds achieve financial well-being. Since founding FamilyVest, he has discovered that his greatest moments come when working with a family that believes a financial planner would be of little benefit or cost too much.
