About David Edmisten, CFP®

Hi, I’m David Edmisten, CFP®. Next Phase Financial Planning works with corporate professionals who are planning to retire early, typically within the next 3 years. I can help you answer these important questions:
-Have I saved enough to retire early and not run out of money?
-Am I paying too much in taxes?
-Are my investments set up correctly for retirement?
-Have I made the correct plans for Social Security, my employer benefits and healthcare?

I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ with 16 years of experience advising clients to retire and enjoy the next phase of their life confidently. I’ve had a successful career at my previous firms, consistently recognized as a high achiever, leader and chosen to coach and develop my peers.

I’ve successfully helped corporate employees from several industries and was selected as an exclusive partner with a local energy pipeline company to help their executive team with retirement planning. I decided to start Next Phase Financial Planning so that I can use my expertise exclusively with the people that I provide the most value to – those considering an early retirement.

I am a Christian, very happily married to my amazing wife Kristy and father of 8 wonderful children. We enjoy traveling, the beach, hiking, sports, games, and serving others. I also love music, playing guitar and sharing laughter with family and friends.

About Crawford Ulmer, CFP®, EA

I seek to glorify Jesus Christ and make Him known, as I help young families and singles steward their finances well.

I was fascinated by investing at a young age. Despite its importance, I have found that personal finance is rarely talked about and young professionals are often ill-equipped to plan for their futures. I am passionate about making financial planning accessible to my clients and helping them invest to achieve their goals.

Before starting Ulmer Financial, I worked as an assistant to a financial planner where I created and operated our investment management process, researched a variety of financial planning issues, and served clients. I have a BS in Commerce from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce and am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (TM) professional and Enrolled Agent.

Mike Farrow, CFP®

About Mike Farrow, CFP®

I’m Mike Farrow, and I’m the founder of FlightPath Financial Planning. I started my own firm because I wanted to have more control over implementing ideas and practices that are truly best for my clients. I grew up reading books written by some of the greatest financial minds of all time. From those books I developed an ethos deeply rooted in doing what’s best for the investor. This translates today to doing what’s best for the client. I always put my clients interests first and assist them in setting themselves up for a strong financial future.

Why take your journey with FlightPath Financial Planning?

It is often said that a house is only as good as the foundation it is built on. Likewise, I built my financial planning firm from the ground up using our industry’s best technology, tools and practices. Building it myself has allowed me to keep my costs to you quite low. I charge reasonable, flat rate and fully transparent fees based on your financial complexity, and not on how much money you have. I provide advice only. This means I do not sell products or make a commission from any of my recommendations. I have built this firm around what is best for my clients, and I will continue to make those decisions that put you and your finances above all else. That is my promise.

Philip Rutterer, CFP®

About Philip Rutterer, CFP®

I created Rutterer Planning as the financial planning firm that I would want to work with. A firm where clients could be assured that I was working in their best interest with no hidden sales or insurance commissions motivating the advice. A place where fees would not go to build a building with the company name on it and where the savings were passed on to clients. A financial partner that recognized the very families that most benefit from financial advice don’t have time to meet during regular M-F business hours.

I want to share the benefits of financial planning – control of cash flow, identification and achievement of financial goals, and peace of mind – with those who could benefit from it most.

Nate Baim, CFP®, MBA

My name is Nate Baim, and I’m a financial planner who enjoys helping Millennial professionals, families, and recent graduates with advanced degrees plan their pursuits. You will quickly learn I am interested in learning about your desired pursuits. I will work with you to best understand how to manage your financial responsibilities and risks within the context of your goals. My process will help us understand how each of your goals will impact your pursuit and bring clarity to your unique circumstance. Because I believe in ongoing financial planning, I place a strong focus on actionable strategies, accountability, and monitoring of your ever-evolving plan.

For a long time, I was interested in the financial planning profession. However, I was turned off by the stereotypical pushy salesmanship reputation accompanying the title “financial advisor.” So, when I chose to establish Pursuit Planning and Investments, LLC, I resolved to do it differently. I designed Pursuit Planning and Investments, LLC, to serve the interest of our clients. I take great pride in that we are an independent firm not beholden to selling products. As a Fee-Only firm we are focused on providing our best advice.

My pursuit thus far has been focused on exploration, education, and growth. After graduating from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business with a finance degree, I had a strong desire to explore and travel. I moved away from my home state, Indiana, to volunteer with AmeriCorps. Here I served to work on and led back-country trail maintenance teams. This led me to become interested in the intersection between sustainability and finance. Thus, I went back to school, and I earned an MBA at Willamette University’s Atkinson Graduate School of Management, focused on sustainability management and investment finance. Before launching Pursuit Planning and Investments, LLC, I worked in Oregon’s Silicon Forest for a Fortune 500 company as a strategic financial analyst for a large semiconductor company. On my weekends, you will often find me someplace away from the city, climbing, hiking, backpacking, camping, or exploring with my wife and daughter.

I currently live in Minneapolis area with my wife but work virtually with clients throughout Minnesota. I believe firmly in the accessibility of qualified financial advice to all, and not just those of us who have been successful already. I am always interested in connecting and learning more about everyone’s story. Feel free to reach out and connect.

About Cory Moore, CFP®, MBA

After earning a finance degree from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2006, I moved to the Philadelphia area to pursue a career in personal finance. Through persistence, hard work, and a positive can-do attitude, I navigated a successful career path at Vanguard and Prudential Financial, two trillion-dollar financial services firms. At both Vanguard and Prudential, I ascended the career ladder, working my way up from an Associate to a Vice President position while also earning an MBA from Rutgers University. My unique journey (which includes relocations and promotions as well as setbacks) has influenced and shaped my perspective on the essential elements of financial planning excellence. It has provided me with both the practical and theoretical experience I need to help you reach your financial goals.

I reside in Oklahoma City, OK, having relocated here from the Philadelphia area. I am a self-proclaimed “nerd at the cool table”. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, biking, fishing, traveling, sports, and having fun!

I would love to hear about your financial dreams and discuss how I could help them come to fruition. Let’s talk!

Tim Hicks, CFP®

About Tim Hicks, CFP®

I started Hicks Financial Partners, LLC in order to provide fiduciary, fee-only financial planning and investment management.

I want to help you bring clarity to your financial well-being. I want to know your goals and priorities. I want to find out where you want to go; I call this your destination. I want to align your goals, priorities, and destination with your money.

My life experiences are a big part of what I bring to your table. I earned a Computer Engineering degree from North Carolina State University in 1999 and for 15 years worked as a Software Engineer and Software Architect for Fortune 500 companies. However, my interest was always in helping others and truly making a difference in their lives. I was not initially sure how to enter the Financial Services industry and act only as a Fiduciary but that was my one and only goal. After a couple of years struggling to find the right environment to truly serve clients, I am delighted that I found my home to always act in the best interest of our clients at all times and serve as a Fiduciary. In my opinion, that is the way it should always be when helping other with their finances but unfortunately many times that is not the case.

I live in Southern Pines, NC with my wife and three kids. We love to spend time as a family at our beach house in Ocean Isle Beach, NC and participate in sports activities and serve in our local church.
